The world has gone mad. Or so it seems most days. Hate and senseless violence hit the headlines again this week.  Raising children to know and believe Truth can feel like an impossible task. How do we intentionally parent and direct our children to live in the culture that doesn’t match with our values?

Media and cultural expert, Rebecca Hagelin, is on the show this week to help guide us in purposeful parenting.

“Rebecca has championed faith and family values in Washington, DC for some 25 years. She speaks around the nation educating parents on how to combat the negative effects of the pop media culture on their children. Her weekly column, ‘Faith and Family: Hope for Every Generation’ appears in The Washington Times and national news sites.” (from Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk).

Crafting Your Family Culture

Rebecca is the author of the book: 30 Ways in 30 Days to Strengthen Your Family**. In this episode she shares some thoughts and practical ideas on how to help craft a family culture.  She encourages moms to develop healthy imaginations, critical thinking, and connected relationships in their home. Reminding us to focus on the true enemy. And share with our children the freedom they have in Christ.

Personally, I was reminded of engaging in thoughtful conversations with my boys. And to be available to listen when they need advice or support (because crises don’t always happen on my schedule). Most importantly, Rebecca emboldened me that it’s worth the time and attention to make family time a priority and to train the boys in God’s way.
